- The first calculation instrument, which nature put at human being disposal was his own hand/ fingers.
- If not enough: shells, twigs, pebbles, stones and so forth.
- Man’s need to quantify, to count and to do mathematic calculations– invented computer.
- Long before the computer, in the Roman Empire, Ancient Asia, and other parts of the World, man was inventing easier and faster ways of counting and calculating.
Abacus: mystery of the bead
Abacus or Abaci is an ancient Asian calculating tool that helps modern students as young as age 4 or 5 master essential math skills they will retain and use all their lives. There are many different types of Abacus and different terminologies are used around the world. We will be using the phrase called “Japanese Soroban” in this program.
Abacus Versus Calculator
In late 1946 a Japanese postal official highly skilled in using Japanese abacus engages in a contest with a foreign soldier in +, - and x numbers who used most modern calculator. In four of five contests, the Japanese official with the abacus was faster, being beaten only in the multiplication problems.
Facts about human brain
Our brain is divided into two parts right brain and left brain.
The left brain controls the logical, numerical, analytical, sequential facts and remembrance whereas right brain is responsible for color, music, imagination, senses, rhyming, daydreaming, pattern and overall thinking. Left brain governs the right limbs and the right brain governs the left limbs. Conversely the action of the limbs also has an influence on the development of the brain.
So, in order to boost overall intelligence of the cerebrum, both the right and the left brain must be trained at the same time.
Creativity will be at its greatest only when both brains are communicating and co-operating with each other.
With the use of Magnetic Resonance Imagining (MRI) researchers have proved that majority of people (90%) in the world use only the left side of the brain for their everyday activities including regular school academics, leaving the right brain under utilized and under developed.

This course is designed for 5 yrs to 13 yrs old kids. This is a prime age to develop mental arithmetic skills. First step towards, whole brain development. Check out parents guide.

Prerequisite
|
5 yr old needs to be able to recognize and write 0-9 before joining this course.

Program Structure
|
- This course work is divided into different levels. All the leels are designed for approx. 3 to 4 months
- After eery level student's assessment will be done to make sure he/she is good to advance to next level.
- The total duration of the course work is 30 months (2.5 yrs). Depending upon the performances of the kids, it can take little longer or shorter.
- The classes are once a week- 60 minutes / session.

- Fingering method using Abacus technique (Kids PreK- KG) Knowing the numbers iz., Reading, writing, counting up /down, comparisons, word problems, even-odd numbers, chart number, data-graph ( making picture graphs, bar graphs, tally graphs), van diagrams, probabilities, inequalities with additions and subtractions, strong understanding of place values etc for 0 to 99 numbers.

(After passing the test of the Fingering method, kids go on the Abacus. Kids of 1st grde and up do not need to do Fingering method, we introduce Abacus to them in the first class)
